For over 10 years, I’ve been asked, “Who is Morgan Scott?” By now, I’m used to it, though I’ve never felt the urge to rebrand. The name originated 11 years ago when a friend of my wife asked us to film her wedding. When it came time to add credits to the film (yes, I thought credits were a good idea back then), I didn’t want to use my own name. Instead, I went with “Morgan Scott Films.”
The name came from a pseudonym I had used for years. “Morgan Scott” was actually supposed to be my name until a few weeks before I was born, when my mom decided against it. So in situations like ordering at Starbucks—anywhere my real name might get misspelled, mispronounced, or otherwise complicate things, I’d use the name “Morgan” or “Morgan Scott”.
Fifteen weddings into what had become a full-fledged business, I considered whether to stick with Morgan Scott Films or transition to a more personal brand name. But friends and family loved the name, and soon enough, I stopped thinking about it altogether, focusing instead on creating beautiful wedding films for couple after couple.
Fast forward to today: we’ve filmed over 350 weddings across the globe. I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of so many remarkable events and life moments—moments that people will treasure for generations.
Some of my favorite experiences now come from seeing couples become parents and showing their wedding films to their children. It’s history unfolding before our eyes—a reminder that every fleeting moment I capture through my lens could one day become a cherished memory for future generations.

My love for wedding videography began unexpectedly when my wife’s friend asked me to film her wedding. At the time, I had no idea what I was doing, but I dove headfirst into the world of wedding filmmaking—and immediately, I knew I’d found my calling. Filming and editing have been passions of mine since I was young, but using those skills to capture one of the most significant moments in someone’s life was something I hadn’t considered. Once I did, I realized it was exactly what I wanted to do.
For the past 10 years, I’ve been fortunate to call Raleigh, North Carolina, home. It’s here that my wife, Christy, and I are raising our three kids. Along the way, we’ve traveled the world, capturing weddings and events in breathtaking places. I’m grateful for every story I’ve had the privilege of telling and every couple who has trusted me to preserve their memories.
